For over 30 years, Scotty has playfully interrogated the intersections of traditional art and contemporary creativity. His work is thought-provoking and often humorous, thriving on tension and ambiguity. His images are steeped in an ambiguous nostalgia, balancing the bittersweetness of memory and loss with the lightness of childhood whimsy. The creation process
Every image on this site is a fiction; a nostalgic imagining and depiction of a moment never witnessed.

Nothing is real, they are synthetic stories brought to life through a mix of traditional craft, photography, digital tools, machine learning and beyond.
No one image is created in quite the same way. Often the process begins from a photo, sometimes from a sketch, occasionally from a random prompt but one constant is that other artists work will never be referenced when working with Ai. Ai is a powerful tool that opens a world of unimaginable creative possibilities but it cannot be at the expense of the creative industries very lifeblood, IP.

Over time Scotty's processes and fields of enquiry will inevitably evolve. He welcome suggestions or invitations to collaborate.
